LGBTQ+

The laws and customs abroad (in terms of sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, and sexual characteristics) can be very different from the Canadian ones. It is essential to gather information about your country of destination before your departure, including the risks and obstacles you may face abroad.

The government of Canada has prepared a series of recommendations to consider while planning a trip, and we strongly encourage you to have a look at them.

In addition, Interligne, an organization offering help, information and resources to anyone affected by issues of sexual and gender diversity, has numerous tools and a lot of information related to the issues that a person who identifies as a member of the LGBTQ+ community may face while travelling in some countries.
